WHERE WE'VE BEEN, WHERE WE'RE GOING
Elevation Church is often viewed as an overnight success. But what most people don't know is that this church had its beginnings in the heart of Pastor Steven Furtick when he was just 16 years old. While reading Jim Cymbala's book, Fresh Wind Fresh Fire, he came across a statement on page 23 that would change his life forever. "I despaired at the thought of my life passing me by without seeing God move greatly on my behalf." That sentence proved to be the catalyst for a life mission of seeing people far from God filled with life in Christ through the local church. It was over the next 9 years that everything started to come together.
In 2005, Pastor Steven and 8 families sold their homes and quit their jobs and moved to Charlotte, NC. On February 5, 2006, Elevation opened its doors with 121 people attendance in the Providence High School Atrium. In just over three years, God has moved in amazing ways and has used Elevation to change thousands of lives in the Charlotte area. Elevation was recently recognized as the 4th Fastest Growing Church in America by Outreach Magazine. Through God's favor and a relentless pursuit of a singular mission, Elevation Church has experienced over 8,000 professions of faith and over 2,000 baptisms since our launch. From humble and sacrificial beginnings, God has placed his hand on Elevation Church and we truly believe the best is yet to come.

Pastor Chris Hodges dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal: help people connect with God in a church without letting structures and programs get in the way. With the help of the Dream Team--34 people committed to seeing this dream become a reality--Church of the Highlands began on February 4, 2001. That first Sunday, over 350 attended at the Fine Arts Center of Mountain Brook High School.
Pastor Chris focused on reaching out to the non-churched community, building relationships through small groups meeting throughout the city. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday Celebrations, and the simple style of Church of the Highlands brought immediate growth. In its first year, the church grew to 600 in weekly attendance, and 371 people committed their lives to Christ. At the same time, the church helped in the planting of six other churches and gave nearly a quarter of its income to missions.
As Church of the Highlands is in its ninth year, more than 12,000 people attend the church, and even more participate in the small groups. Church of the Highlands offers contemporary, biblically-driven worship services that are alive with energy and creativity, as well as excellent childcare, exciting children's and student ministries, and dynamic small groups.

Mosaic is a multi-ethnic, economically diverse church established by men and women seeking to know God and to make Him known through the pursuit of unity in accordance with the prayer of Jesus Christ (John 17:20-23) and patterned after the New Testament at Antioch (Acts 11:19-26; 13:1ff.)
It is important to understand that Mosaic is not a church focused on racial reconciliation, Rather, we are focused on reconciling men and women to God thorough faith in Jesus Christ and, as well, on reconciling ourselves to the principles and practices of first century churches: congregations of faith in which diverse men and women walked, worked and worshipped God together as one for the sake of the gospel.
